In the summer of 2019, I drove a vehicle from Denver, Colorado to the coast of Washington and caught the car ferry to Juneau, Alaska. I had booked a berth on the ferry and noticed the old porthole with a metal cover in my room. Thinking it would be fun to create a little travelog of the trip for my children, I took photos out of the porthole at various times of day along the three days to show them what I was seeing. This grew into a wonderful project I then created using beetle killed aspen tongue and groove panels. This trip was amazing, to say the least, and reminded me of how much of life is truly about the journey and not the destination.
