Dragons in Barcelona, Parasol Mfg, Las Ramblas

The dragon was finally captured!  For years I have waited to get this beastie in the afternoon light only to be too busy elsewhere at the right time. This year however, my luck changed and I finally got it (him? her?) in the last of the apricot light before the buildings nearby put shadows all over the scene. Dragons are a big deal in Barcelona, they appear in motifs in the Bari Gotic through the Modernista era. The American Football team was even called The Dragons!

Sunset on the Olympic Port in Barcelona from the sea

First day back in Barcelona and ready for adventure! I took a walk down Las Ramblas and found the sunset cruise to the Forum and back the the old Port. It is fun to see a city I've been to so many times and see it from a different Perspective. The twin towers, here with the glimmer of the sunset on the water, is often one of the first sights seen when coming over Barcelona by plane. They look more imposing from the sea.
