I was thinking of Paris. Then I ran across a number of photos of the Eiffel Tower from my travels and decided to show a small series of them.

The boats moving on the Seine are called the Bateau Mouche and some of them have a dinner cruise.  Though it takes one off the streets and into a boat full of tourists it is somehow historical to approach the city from this ancient passage and see the faces on the bridges or the house boats lined up on the sides of the river.  Cheesy it might be but it has a charming link to the past that appeals to me.

Las Arenas, the Bullring, Barcelona, evening

The view from the top of Las Arenas is such a compelling scene.  I find seemingly endless amusement up there on the rooftop watching the traffic in the Placa Espanya, the Magic Fountains, people swimming at the Club Dir, eating and laughing with friends.  I especially enjoy the installation of lots of little fishes over the sushi bar in Watasumi, check it out sometime!  

Cadaques, Casino de Cadaqués Societat l'Amistat.

The view from the windows of the Casino de Cadaques is rendered even more attractive with these eye shaped windows.  If you ever have a chance to see an art show here by all means climb to the top floor and enjoy the view!  

Barcelona, Rambla Catalunya

On of the passions of people everywhere is people watching and Barcelona is no exception! Tapas bars line the paseo where people can watch the busy, or wandering, passers by. Unlike many touristic places, the Ramblas are used by locals as well as visitors. It is delightful to see the mix of elegant business suits and fashionably dresses women intermingling with the short shorts and baggy pants of the travelers. Characters abound, people pass and an occasional street musician will stop and play in hopes of a tip in the hat.
